J’Adore Bernays! Submit Your Piece de Resistance by June 22

Bon jour, mon ami!

Just a few short years ago, I took the trip of a lifetime to the City of Lights with hubs and another couple.

Paris is a magical city – full of old romance, beauty, culture and style.

The Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees, the Seine River, the food… ah, the food!

Se Magnifieque!

Confession: I’m such a Julie Child, French-food nut that I’ve made it a hobby, albeit an expensive one, to slowly collect the incredible Le Creuset cookware in cherry red.

I have two Eiffel Tower necklace pendants, served Opera cake at my wedding and adore champagne. Give me Gene Kelly singing ” ‘S Wonderful” and effortlessly tapping around a Paris cafe – I’m in pure heaven.

You get the picture – I’m a shameless Francophile.

So imagine my delight when my creative, hard-working volunteer committee submitted A Night in Paris as one of the theme considerations for this year’s Edward L. Bernays Awards, which I’m co-chair for a second consecutive year.

The collateral alone charmed me and my co-chair, the dry-humored Blake Nelson who quipped: “If that’s not the theme we choose, I’ll quit.”

Lucky for me, it won overwhelmingly.

It’s a beautiful theme to celebrate San Diego’s creme de la creme in the public relations world.

The awards, open to all agencies and organizations throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties, are designed to recognize the industry’s finest public relations campaigns, tactics and professionals in a range of categories including media relations, community relations, public affairs and investor relations.

I won my first Bernays a couple years ago and could not have been prouder of the accomplishment. It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized for the hard work that goes into communicating effectively on behalf of our clients or companies. It’s worth the time and effort to submit!

SAVE THE DATE: Winners of this year’s awards will be recognized at the Edward L. Bernays Mark of Excellence Awards reception on Thursday, September 27 at the lovely Rancho Bernardo Inn.

BERNAYS DEADLINE: Award entries are due 5 p.m., Friday, June 8 or 5 p.m., June 22 when accompanied by a late entry fee.
